Welding/making solid mount
« on: 20 April 2009, 21:04 »
Alrite just wondering if its best not to customize the rear engine mount to make it into a solid one as well as having a solid front mount , but a stock gearbox one?

If its only down to it will be more vibrations in the car i dont mind about that at all ,

What if i made every mount solid ? the road around mine are really smooth or most of them ,

Cheers Joe

With a solid front engine mount, the whole car vibrates. With 3 solid engine mounts, its literally going to shake to pieces. The rear two are supportive, most of the rocking action is taken away when the front mount is replaced.

Vibratech (sp) make mounts for all round the engine, but £££.
