Need the help of a 1.8L owner
« on: 15 April 2009, 15:54 »
I have given my 1.8 a full overhall and rebuilt the injection unit,  its all back together now and running but there are two vac hoses at the back of the throttle body, one feeds into the evap emissions canister and the other is a much smaller vac pipe, i cant find what attaches to it,   It looks like the ECU Vac line would push onto it or something but as far as i know the 1.8 has no vac feed to the ECU.  Does any one know?  or mabey a very helpfull person might pop out and take a quick look for me?  (its down the very back of the throttle body)

Ok rubjohnny has answerd my question now, it was the little air flap!   But while your here, shady,  I Presume yours is the 90bhp 1.8?   What do you think of it?  Mine is the 75 and its... slow.  Infact its no diffrent to my old 1.4.   Im thinking of just dropping in a new engine if i cant sort these problems so if the 90bhp one has a bit more poke i will specificly look for that one.  My diesel is 90bhp but its hard to compare that to a petrol.

Thanks
