sorry to hear about this

must disagree about leaving the keys downstaires tho, always hide them!!!, my mate had this happen to him, they left without the car tho as they found no keys! (and nothing else was taken) and a house further down the road was targeted and they did make away with the car.

on another note, at the printers i use, a guy their just bought a mk 5 gti, off 2 asian lads he stupidly met on a layby (car was advertised in the trader), did the deal, brought the loverly car home, 2 weeks later police at his door telling him the car was stolen and they were taking it back, he has lost his 7500k !!!

the asians were from the manchester area..

How much you got to spend? Full insurance payout?

BMW 118d. Get it remapped - 205bhp, 50mpg, £35 a year tax. Will take the sting out of your insurance too. Great car, good badge, good value, cheap to run.

This is my opinion and mine only but I wouldnt let them win by getting a lesser model than the one you had before!

Id park my same car on the same drive and wait for the barstewards to turn up again!! only this time I would have 8 lads from my gym waiting happily round the corner!!

Insurance valuer is ringing in 5 days, I've been on parkers for the general news

07 R32 - Part EX: £14,765
            Private: £13,395 - £16,385
            Dealer: £18,165

I paid £14,495 from a dealership 5 weeks ago should i be optimistic or pessimistic?

I want another R32, why should i not because of some rat's? but also its my girlfriends piece of mind aswel she asked if i did get the same car would they come back.... didn't have an answer for her which made me think again, not just about me anymore.

Looking into 03 R32's (some money back) a tracker and a garage for storing it.

stickling point is insurance being 1400 now for best quotes.

I am not 100% sure how these things work, but you should wait for their valuation, but in the meantime gather examples of autotrader sales for the same spec and condition and age as yours, quote parkers, get a Glass's valuation also, and get a trade in valuation from VW (to get the lowest possible)

Think of it as money you want for the loss of yours, irrespective of what car you want next. Above all get the best possible deal you can get

F*** me!

In hindsight, these were not people to mess with it seems - not your usual chavs out for a quick buck and a joyride. With any luck they will get caught and banged up for a long time

I had my house broken into a few weeks ago mate, they took the keys to my GTI and helped themselves to other small manageable items around the house too.
Luckily the Police found the car about 12 hours after it was taken, parked up totally undamaged (locked even)
They do this now to see if there is any tracker type device fitted, and then come back to the car at a later date and use it for commiting crimes like yours.
Car was found in Kirby (Southdean)
I wouldn't let people like this put you off getting another R, I have had a device fitted to mine now which will mean the car will never go AWOL again, for added piece of mind. PM me if you want some more details.

Might be worth asking around a few places to see if they have been offered cigs.. bit of a long shot but they have to get rid of them somewhere.
