Really sorry to hear mate... metioned it before but we had the same thing happen over here a couple of years back. Unfortunately everyone was at home except me.

Its not just the taking of the car that effects you but the fact that someone has been in your home and could do so at anytime and your pretty much powerless to do something about it. Not a nice feeling and it affected my parents for a long time afterwards.

Try not to worry too much about the car mate as now its gone, its probably better it stays that way, the family and your safety are much more important that a car.

Remember at the time we were told by police that its organised crime and a number of gangs are now doing it. Car will be moved to a remote location for a while to make sure it has no tracker. Then probably shipped abroad and given a new identity.

Try not to worry too much though mate.... sure there is a nice new shinny R32 with your name all over it!!

We should hve the right to protect what we have worked hard for.

Shotguns should be legal...they would think twice about breaking in then, sh!theads.

My car is blocked in by 2 others, got CCTV, house alarm and extra security on the doors since the first attempt of stealing in.
sorry but my vaux looks far better than the mk5 gti, thats why i bought it  faster too

sorry to hear mate gutted for ya.
my keys are kept next to my bed rite next to my aluminium baseball bat. my view is that ive spent to much money and worked to hard to let someone walk into my house and take my keys. my view mite be influenced by an incident wen i was a kid of my mam twitting a thief round the head wiv a golf club who came into the house

Globalisation is the future and I think that criminal punishments should be outsourced... maybe thieves like the one who took your car would think twice if they were shipped off to say... Saudi Arabia, for some proper punishment   .

At any rate, they wouldn't - literally - be able to do it again..

as an update to answer questions - no house alarm but will be by tomorrow, keys were downstairs and they came in the kitchen window as Alex said earlier.

CSI and CID been out asked the usual and gave me a crime number.

to rub salt into the wounds i was about to protect my 6 years no claims this renewel in august, new quote on a R....... £1800 a year up from £800

Right now i am hoping for some good news... not from the police

Im trying to stay positive but its abit hard when some dirty little scummy bint has been into my home, as i said good news is what im hoping for and then ill take it from there.

Think you may well be onto something here mate!!!

Just think of all the competition for contracts from other countries... crime would no longer be costing the tax payer a fortune. We could even push for compensation, whilst making them work in sweat shops abroad (making the same addidas tracky bottoms they nicked from JD).

OMG!! another one!!

It's about time the plod managed to trace these down as it must just be one or two gangs doing it!?

Glad to hear no-one was hurt when the car was stolen.

I don't know what I'd do if I caught someone stealing my car.....but it wouldn't end well!

We caught a guy at work last night with a stolen MK5 GTI, was driving it around the area all night, just toying with teh coppers really, he crashed it in the end, was stolen 5 days earlier in an aggravated burglary, he hadnt changed the plates though?!
