Big brake kits

As summers approaching im looking into a remap, but first i want to make sure the car stops well, im after an off the shelf kit i have looked into K-sport so far, i dont want to be messing about with LCR front brakes as the bell housing and brackiets will need to be made up, brembo do an off the shelf kit, but i cant justify spending that sort of cash, i have used AP brakes and willwoods in the past and been happy with them both, im after 4 pots or 6 pots if cheap enough, grooved discs and ferrodo ds2500 pads,

can any one help ?

Front 312 discs with the DS2500's will be more than enough to stop a mapped 1.8T, IMO.

Agree totally. The brakes on the Golf a very very good as standard. Go up the the 312mm, get some decent pads/discs and they will be fine. I have Mintex all round and they are a vast improvement and also cheaper than OEM

ECS Porsche brake kit, costs around £1200 tho,
You can get 4 pot Porsche brakes from a scrappy and have them rebuilt, then you need custom carriers, new brake braided hoses and discs, you can do this for around £500

Front 312 discs with the DS2500's will be more than enough to stop a mapped 1.8T, IMO.

they cant surely make that much of an improvemnet ?

i take it they would be very good on an agu without a remap, im also looking at braided brake lines front and rear,

 u r wrong mate ,have u tried it ? even  jus change the discs to 312mm u can feel the difffence and by adding the ds2500 pads it make a great difference .... ds2500pad is for track use only ... These pads "exceed" Reg90 friction coefficient of road OE pads, and are classed are Race Pads. They perform way higher by definition that they exceed the reg90 +/-15% of std coefficient. This is why they are "upgrade pads" and whay so many people like them and there braking ability.

If you want to stay road legal, then you could always use the EBC Yellowstuff pads which are quite good even from cold.

even tho is not road legal but i know alot of people is using the ds2500 pads on their road car .... after being use for awhile the marking on the pads will wear off and no one can tell what pads u r using .....  im not encourage people to use it i jus tellin people the in's and out's ....
