AERCON/Warranty advice please?
« on: 12 April 2009, 14:28 »
hi all ive got a 2006 gti and have still got around 1 week manufacturers warranty and 10 month extented warranty which the stealer gave me when i bought the car 2 months ago its done 40k right now the problem= my aircon/climate control just doesnt seem to be getting cold even when set to low and the blower is on full power just mild air? so is this my problem now or the stealers bearing in mind ive only had the car 8 weeks and it was supposed to have had a 125 point check, oh and should one of my coolant fans be on all the time when aircon is on as they only come on together when the engine gets hot presumably being controlled by the thermostat etc ? any advice would be great cheers again guys, MATT

Seems to me like you aircon hasnt been recharged.
Check to see if an air con recharge was part of the 125 point check - IMO it should have been.
If so, take the car back and request they do it!

When you bought the car you expected to get a fully functioning car.  Its not like it was a sold as seen banger.  The dealer should deff get it sorted FOC.

just thought id get back to you guys on the situation, took car to stealers and was still 90% gas in ststem turns out the compressor had packed in already at 40k, how sh!te is that lol so they fitted a new one and gave aircon full service and re-gas system all under warranty, its like me freezer now  im glad this has happened as its saved me money because was due a aircon service in october anyway  so finally something positive to say about the stealers for a change and they valeted it all for me whilst it was in for the day

Happened to me last year at £12k miles. I got my condensor replaced and some other related aircon parts. Obviously a regass as well and the system is now fine. Dealer came through for mw but that's the benefit of a dealer warranty
