As he said, the highline has a full sized display, whereas the midline has a half sized display.
With the highline you get everythings thats displayed on the midline, but can change many more settings, like the coming home lights etc - you would need to connect via vagcom to set these via the midline computer.
Also, if you have sat nav installed, you can view directions via the highline computer - so you could, for example, stick a DVD on via your head unit for your passengers, while still be able to follow sat nav directions that are displayed on the highline display.
If you have Bluetooth installed, you can view your phonebook/missed/received/dialled calls via the highline, and I believe you can also read text messages - not sure if you can do this with midline at all.
IMO, the highline looks a lot better then the midline. It really should have been a standard feature in the GTI - but then again, its a way for VW to mak emore money I guess!
The highline and MFSW go hand in hand together - I have both and its a great combo
