Hi I have a MK3 Golf GTI 8V with the AGG engine code.
I need to source a replacement gearbox (I believe the car needs a 020 gearbox) and am hoping someone could answer the following questions:
• Where is the gearbox code displayed?
• Is the code 020 or are there other letters and numbers?
• If so are they relevant to me or am I looking for any box with 020 in the code in it?
• I guess the easiest way is to find a box that has come from a golf with the same AGG engine code. I know I can be found in the log book but where is the code displayed in the car?
• I have seen several gearboxes advertised that have been removed from MK2 Golf GTI’s that are listed with the 020 code is this correct and will they work in a MK3 8V GTI with the AGG engine code and will I need to change any other parts?
