does anyone know the poundage of their uprated springs?

im thinking of getting some custom made ones from www.coilsprings.co.uk but i want to compare the stiffness of springs because you can say how hard they make them.

and anyone done stiffer on the front than the back? any advice?

cheers :D

had a wee look on the EibachShop

Eibachs are rated at 840kgs on the front, 740kg's on the rear

if that makes sense!!

Becareful when playing with stuff like this - can have some dramatic effects !!!

If it's really stiff handling you're after look to the overall package, not just the springs. The main need for custom rated springs is when the static weight of your car increase and you need something to cope with the extra load ie. VR6 Conversion.

These companies spend shed loads of time in R&D getting the springs rates set, so enjoy their hard work ;)

I think you'll really need to get a quality set of shocks that are damper adjustable, uprated ARB's and dial that all in for whatever type of ride you're after .... much more flexible than a static set of springs you might not like too !

ive already got the koni sport adjustable struts, just after some springs now.

a mate suggested about 280-300 lb on the front and 160-200 on the back. to sort out the understeer. what do you think? (i will be getting arb's, along with polyurethane everywhere just not yet)

Seems ok, but best to ask them and see what they suggest ... failing that go for the Eibach's I'd say unless your after a very specific ride height.

not too bothered about the ride height, as long as its around 40 to 60 ish. probably get 40 or 50. i just want the springs to be better than off the shelf kits you get, and this can be done easily, i just need to know how stiff to get them. you get to choose the ride height and poundage of springs when you order them. i was tempted to get eibachs but the custom ones are only 15-20 quid more

if your gonna be getting arb's then i wouldnt be worrying about getting springs made up to dial out understeer, otherwise you'll end up with rock hard springs that will be unbearable to drive on

ARB's & a decent set of shox/spring setup will have you sorted.

yeah i would get the eibach springs but they only lower by 25mm.

what other springs are there that are as good as the eibach springs that lower by 40 or 50ish that will work well on the koni struts. i dont want them rock hard tho (spax style).

yeah i know what your saying bout the eibachs, i have them on mine coupled with the Eibach arb's, and it sits to high at the back, so much so that im selling my 16's and going back to 15's. but my god does the thing go round corners!!

H&R & Leda springs are quality brands
