Another car - thoughts on price?
« on: 09 April 2009, 21:59 »
Not holding my breath, but I may have found (well, Wifey might have found ;) ) a suitable car.

Bit off the wall though -

55 plate Candy White 3dr GTI
DSG
Leather
SatNav
18" monza IIs
armrest
FSH

downside?

72,000 miles.

All for £11K.

My *initial* thoughts are that the price is too high for a car with this amount of miles. BUT then again, miles aren't as big an issue as they used to be (bought my Audi with 83K and it's driven like a new car for 3 years :) )

Comments?

Dan :)

nice spec and with that i think it's a fair price

depends if you want to part with £11k to get something different in spec, or £11k for something less in spec and mileage

Sounds ok and priced about right with the spec.

Slightly over priced if honest... The newer cars came with leather as standard so that sort of doesn't make the older cars with leather any more valuable now.
I would say £10k - £10.5k with that mileage and being white

that has happened to me numerous of times

goes to show that the price was fair as it got snatched up.

i think it's hard to say on price, many enthusiasts like ourselves know a little more and alot of the quoted about prices which people are willing to pay is more on the lines of trade prices and not indy selling prices

I'm not too choked - I'd only just contacted the dealer to inquire about if it was still available
