Hi all,

Buying my first ever Golf GTI tonight.

Its a 1990 H Reg Golf GTI in Oak green. Needs a few things doing but make the perfect car for my return to the ring next year!

i also have a MK1 Golf 1.1, Mk3 Golf poverty spec 1.4, A Bora V5 and a 1967 camper van in dire need of restoration.

anything i should look out for with the mk2? Any decent places to get spares?

Also, if anyone has a tailgate in mint condition in Oak green give me a shout.

Cheers!
Dan

Thats actually where i saw it for sale :D

Got it home tonight and it has a serious misfire. The head gasket has gone so its going to be an engine out jobby. that'll give me a chance to re bush it all, new ARB's, uprate the brakes and add a cheeky diff to the box of cogs. Thats the plan anyway!!

First things first i need to get the car on the ramps and make sure its a good un. Think its needing a new tailgate and some other bits looking at but overall i'm happy.

Cheeers for the welcome!

So your the man that gazumpted me on this one, Dan!  I was expecting to come pick it up until the night before when I was suddenly told that it had been sold to someone else!

I have found another 5dr Oak Green 16v which I am about to buy now, so no hard feelings.  Glad that you are going to take good care of it

Enjoy
