New lad from Cumbria
« on: 09 April 2009, 00:01 »
Hello I'm in Penrith, Cumbria. Had my Golf mk5 GTI for 2 years but just joined the forum cos its broken and needed advice..... Had a mk3 GTI then a mk4 V6 4motion then a focurs RS that i wrote off then an impreza STI then an audi a3 then back to a golf mk5!

The Golfs the best all rounder, good performance, comfort and gadgets and not too expensive to fun (till this weekend when the air con compressor blew up and snapped the alternator belt.... quoted 900 notes to fix at the VW dealer......)

Anyway if anyone knows has any ideas for a not too expensive repair let me know!

Thanks also for the helpful advice I've received so far.

Welcome.

That sounds rather unlucky, try asking in the Mk5 section : http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?board=16.0 someone in there may have a useful fix.
