country lanes and b roads kill cars, as your asking everything to work harder,  bimbeling allong at 80 the engine isnt working that hard or anything to do that much really.  only thing motorway kill is 5th gear if you have a leacky gearbox with bugger all oil in it
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Agree with Danny P. Country roads kill cars. Ive had more problems with mine with country lanes.
Just remember...

VW's are not reliable.

I do 300 motorway miles every week no fail for the last year and a half in the valver and apart from the usual problems with the mk2 nothing serious has ever gone wrong!

Every monday im back on the road, cruise at 80-90 and do the "occasional" 100+

Cars are to be driven, if you want a show car thats a diff story right?

Meh, I've got 170 odd k and no problems with motorways, he is quite happy to plod along.

I would make sure you check your oil levels very regularly though, mine seems to use it a bit when maintaining higher revs.

Same as any car though, always check everything every week. Mine need the valve stem seals replacing as it burns a little oil from time to time, although less since i did an oil change...

250 a week, every week.

Motorway driving is the least damaging form of motoring your car can do.
