Mk3 16v Ride Quality
« on: 25 July 2004, 16:32 »
I have all new VW suspension on my 95 16v and I am sure that there is still a problem with the ride quality.

The front top mounts were also recently replaced with GSF parts which I think are not as good as the vw ones.

I'm looking for peoples opinions on whether the non OE front mounts plus possibly worn rear suspension mounts could have a big effect on the ride quality.

I know that the MK3 is generally average at best, but I can't believe that that VW made a car with the ride quality that mine has at the moment.

Also does anyone know the symptoms of worn rear suspension bushes.

Thanks for any replies

How many miles has the car done?
Don't use GSF top mounts, they are terrible, replace them with VW ones.
Check the front wishbone bushes and the rear axle bushes.
What suspension kit have you fitted?

It's actually VW OE suspension. Car has done 93k.

I've just bought a set of VW OE top mounts so I'll fit them. Cheers for the advice on the bushes. I'll check them all out.

Do you know anything about the rear suspension bushes?

Thanks
