Trying to find my old MK2 Gti..................Help

  Thought i would try on here in a small hope someone can help:_

 I sold my Mars red 3 door gti B417 DGK about 4 years ago to a chap in Lincoln and would love it back no matter what state it's in,have just checked DVLA and it's not taxed and the MID database says it's not insured. Anyone around lincoln know it??
Was told that there is a way that you can write to DVLA and they will tell you who owns it,anyone got a clue how you do that??

I thought that option only worked when you see a car. You enquire to the DVLA (call up) and then they write to the owner and confirm it all. If ok it's yours.

What is it with people and their old cars?  It's worse than trying to get the phone number for an ex.  It's more like a dog going back to eat it's own sick. 

You sold it, you obviously didn't want it enough.  MOVE ON!!

Judging by the fact the DVLA site do not have details of the car and it's not on the MID my guess would be said car has either been broken up and scrapped or is rotting in a field somewhere. I reckon the chances of finding it again are very slim
