Diy windscreen repair?

Has anyone tried the kits to repair chips in windscreens and if you have how did it go? iv been thinking about giving it ago but im not holding out much hope.

Don't know about the DIY stuff, but had various windscreens done twice, always seems to leave a bullseye.
Never been satisfied, but good enough for MOT.

Its the mot im worried about really because if it gets though that then when im full comp next year i can get it sorted properly.

If it shows even after filling (usually if its deep or cracked) and in the field of vision (appropriate sizes) it's still a fail IIRC, I know I used to get an advisory, but not that it was outside of the field.
