TIPS for fitting Silicone Boost Hoses
« on: 05 April 2009, 21:23 »
Right after reading that alot of guys struggled to fit there Forge silicone boost hoses i gave mine a go today and found that the pipe that everyone struggles with (Turbo to Metal Pipe) isnt that hard to do.

What i did was remove the 4x 10mm bolts that holds the metal pipe at the back of the engine in place, then you can easily move the pipe towards the the left (Looking straight on at the engine), Then bit of wd40 on the end of the metal pipe and turbo outlet and the new silicone hose slides on without any kinking, tighten hose clamps and then bolt the metal pipe back into place. Job Done.

Also people may fine it easier to remove the drivers headlight when fitting the pipe that runs from SMIC to throttle body (you will have to remove your front bumper), unbolt SMIC (3x 10mm bolts) so you can move it about, just remove the old hose and feed the new silicone hose through, once through attach the SMIC side first, then put 1 securing bolt back on not fully tight, then attach hose to throttle body and clamp in place, the refit the other 2 10mm bolts that hold the SMIC in place, refit headlight and bumper. Job done.

Hope this helps people
