Back on the lookout...
« on: 04 April 2009, 15:27 »
Well, after signing the purchase agreement on the 19th of march at the dealers and being told that the car didn't have a log book I've been waiting since  . Have decided to start having a look around again, if anybody spots a nice 3dr in silver, black or grey, up to about £12.5k gimme a shout!

Shame, BUT it's probably for a good reason :)

There's a better one out there for you.

I'm in the same position  F'in LAZY dealers.

Well, I was looking with an Indy dealer down your neck of the woods (Newport) - had some nice GTis :) (Mark Richards cars)

I'm looking for  (wish list)

Any colour BUT silver
3 or 5dr
Manual
Leather preferable but cloth will do ;)
Winter pack
Lux pack
Regular H/unit (changing for summit REALLY nice ;) )
18" Monza 2
Not overly bothered about Highline (already got it in my Audi and well...."meh" )
Xenons nice but not essential

Looking to spend around about £12K  (ideally a dealer as I would like to p/ex)

not too picky really ;)

How about you?

Dan :)

Similar to me mate but i really fancy silver and 3dr. Same sorta price range too really, Ive still got the dealer on the case so if he comes up with the goods then fair enough coz i have got a bargain there.  He's already offered me the deposit back so I know i can get out if i need too. Will keep em peeled mate. Whereabouts are you?

Up in "sunny" Herefordshire.
The erm local dealers aren't exactly awe-inspiring though.

Without slagging them off, the perception is that they really don't give a fook about my custom.
Seems to be a trait for this area's dealers though.

Dan

South wales dealers have been awful, swansea, bridgend, port talbot, cardiff and newport are all part of the same group. Ive spoken to wrexham and they seem quite good.

Trickyboy - a good friend of mine may be selling his GTI, since he's considering a Vauxhall Monaro now.
The car is a 05 Grey 5 Door Manual GTI.
He's kept it in top condition - no marks to bodywork - except the odd stone chip due to motorway driving.
He lives in Essex, and works in Basildon - so the car has done mainly motorway/dual carriageway driving only.
Always replaced anything with original VW parts, and fully serviced.
I think the car is just under 60k miles.
I think he'd let it go for under £10k now TBH.

Although its a bit of a trek for you, let me know if you are interested and I'll try get him to take pics etc?

thanks for the effort ifti, its a bit old and a bit high mileage for my budget, can stretch to £11.5k without the part ex. But extras could be a swinger! If you could get some pics together that would be great!
