Just ran a quote thru virgin car insurance (who im with atm) a mk4 1.4 is around same price as what im paying now on insurance.
A mk4 1.6 is less  :grin:

true dat! I'd imagine more 1.4's are binned from young drivers than 1.6's.

Get yourself the most unlikely car a first time driver would have and you might find the insurance is cheaper than you think.

I recommend a Dodge Viper.

Insurance prices never make any sense to me, I switched for a Golf GTi to a Bmw 520I and I am now paying £310 less a year.

it was more to insure an 8v gti mk3 than a 16v gti mk2....insurance is wierd.

You think that's strange? How about me just getting a quote for a MK4 R32 for £1500 fully comp with 1 NCB???!!!
