I used a hair dryer to de-badge.  The glue is a nightmare, loads of it is stuck on and you can easily notice where it was.  Got too dark to continue and the torch battery was low.  I also took the ariel off, leaving the stump awaiting delivery of my new one.  It's starting to look better already apart from that glue.

I notice the paint is quite tatty, you can see where the previous owners have cleaned without removing the thick off first.  Lots of swirl scratches.  There is an old plasic receiver stuck on the rear window too, stuck with the same glue.  I tried to remove this and it sounded like the glass was cracking/flexing.  Shat myself and left it along

Took it for a Mot and it failed with corrosion to both of the sills and brakes.

Bit the bullet and booked it into the garage for cambelt/waterpump... Possibly clutch.

Also solved the mad arcing from starter motor till I can get it refurbed. My Dad is a legend

Sometimes I'm amazed how these cars still work despite previous owners best efforts.

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.
