Hi mate, you quoted this when you were helping a chap on here set up his timing:
Ignore the intermediate shaft, the marks are almost always a off. The important thing is the dizzy is in the right position, which is set by loosening the clamp bolt and twisting. You need to set the dizzy timing using a timing light, pointed at the flywheel inspection hole after you remove the green bung
On a k-jet car you set the ign timing with the engine idling and the vac line to the dizzy disconnected & plugged. Point the timing gun at the flywheel inspection hole then spin the dizzy until the large diamond BTDC mark lines up, like so:

I have a technician at work setting the timing on my 16v today and he would like to know If the diamond mark is true TDC or 6degreees TDC? The car needs to be set at 6 degrees TDC (correct?) if mine does not have the diamond mark on the flywheel? Also is the mark on the right of the diamond true tdc?
Cheers Tim
