Does a F reg have the following??

I'm looking for a 16v mk2 & I have been to by a mate they know were a white mk2 is for sale.

He told me he thinks it's an 8v but it has Electric windows, which did come with the car when it was bought from VW many many years ago.

I had a late F plate & mine only had PAS No Electric windows, I though only 16v on that reg came with Electric windows??

I prob wrong or has he found me my 16v

When buying the car new buyers could pick options for the car for a certain price.  extra options include things like alloys, air con, electrics etc.   these options afaik were available on both 8 and 16v  so likeliness is the car you looked at is still an 8v.  

some of the last run out mark 2 models (sometimes called campaigns) were given full electrics and air con as standard.

there was also a load of after market leccy windows kits for the mk2 golf as well.

not the best of quality tho mate, obviously check em to make sure t=your electrics are working fine

The run out models had alloys and electrics, but aircon was still only an option, very rare on a mk2 golf.

all campaigns are 88/89

late runout 8v's were given the same interior/exterior spec as 16v's but are not known as campaigns

Just be grateful for having PAS, both of mine are non PAS with windy windows.
Less to go wrong I thought until someone in the back this week wound the window down and it wouldn't wind up. Possibly come off the runner?
