Just wanted to introduce myself. Been a lover of the Mk2 Golf for a few years but only recently found myself in a position to own one.
Perchased last friday, it was a bit of an Ebay bargain, spec is as follows:
My 1990 Mk 2 Golf Gti 8v Big bumper model.
Recon 1800cc 8v engine and close ratio gearbox 18 months ago
Full Supersprint exhaust system and Ram Air induction kit
Poly bushed all round
16" OZ Superleggeras with Dunlop Sp tyres with good tread
Avo Coilovers, G60 arch kit, rolled front arches, cut back and sealed rears
Good condition interior, Momo champion Steering wheel
Corrado G60 front calipers and 280mm discs, Golf Mk4 rear discs and calipers, Goodrich braided hoses all round
£300 Nakamichi head unit, and Pro plus amp driving Alpine front speakers and Pioneer 6x9's in the custom parcel shelf
Clifford Concept 300 alarm and immobiliser with remote central locking and de-locked doors.
650 pounds + 40 on cleaning products to try and correct the tornado pink paint work! Had to replace an oil seal and a coolant pipe but apart from that it all seems fine.
My plans for the Golf is to just give it a good tidy up, bummpers need a respray and some of the panels are faded beyond a good polish, small dents and chips here and there, may just give the whole car a blow over when funds alow.
Reall hoping to get involved with the club, get to shows and local meets Bournemouth/Yeovil throught the summer.
So just a small intro into myself and my new Golf, just looking forward to meeting new friends with my same love of veedubs.
