Well the Golf went  but the BMW is not as bad as I thought, OK not quite got the 222, 230 or what ever APR re map gave me, but it is still a good lucking motor. I hope your all well here in GTi land! I keep coming back to see you from time to time. I especially miss Tectonic, Hurdy and the Older Guy with the great Music, forgive my Senior Moment Red!

Loyal owner since 2005, done with remapping, I drive a Golf not a Veyron. (hypocrite)

For my sins my other car is the E92 330i (year old now) and quite honestly I don't feel the need for a badge delete. The car is fully specced, along with 18" and sports suspension.

Fabulously quick, but its is a lower car with a lower seating position and a huge bonnet, it requires concentration to drive but is a truly superb motor.

One other issue, for a car with an extra litre under the bonnet is that it is more fuel efficient that the Ed30!
5 door Ed 30, Reflex Silver, DSG, Fully loaded apart from window tints. Considering remap and exhaust conversion.

Now it is not as bad as I first thought. I know that I would be down on BHP 177 (BMW) & 200 (GTi). The BMW has 258 ft/lbs torque, not sure of the GTi in standard form. Now it was a different story with the GTi after it's APR re map, which was superb might I add. TThe one thing I do miss is all the rattles from the dash, the doors and the rear parcel shelf! I also miss the Golfs spirit and it's ability to move from A to B both quickly and safely.
I find myself driving a little slower than in the Golf. When I am at traffic lights the the Golf felt like it had to be worked hard to move off quickly where as the BMW is smoother.

Well I have just realised I am no Jeremy Clarkson so let me sum it up like this:- The BMW, as we all know, is a totally different car. I love them both, but think of it this way!
The GTi is your first Love, the one you will never forget. When you first set eyes on her you know she would be yours. She gets better with age and still looks great. You loved her in the late 70's  when you first met on the street (Mk 1) and you loved her when she got a little bit over weight (not saying when this happened!). You fell in love with Her all over again when she went into the clinic for the face lift, tummy tuck and the boob job (Mk 5).
At the moment I am on a trial separation, I am living with this new sexy girl with bright angel eyes Oh and as I said earlier she doesn't moan and rattle as much   ..... but she isn't as quick round the supermarket! Will we ever get back together, who knows? But let me tell you this I think of her, my old love, every minute of every day
