UPDATE.

INTERESTING!!! 

I can now reveal why I needed the check. Got to the point where I've found a few GTis Have gone through the process of getting to a p/ex price.....

And then the trail has gone cold.

The VW dealers have been unable to find the car in the "book".
This really made me twitch as I didn't know why... and it brings into play the concerns surrounding whether or not the car is cosha etc. I *DID* have my doubts 

I've been in touch with the DVLA & HPI people today. Explained the predicament and got the answers that I need. Which is simply this.
My car IS registered correctly. The details ARE correct. The HPI is up-to-date and correct.

So the issue is with the VW dealership book, as I've had a 3rd party dealer interested (hence my other post about "is it worth it") and the p/ex price came back VERY competitive  Sadly, the car went very quickly, so I'm back to the drawing board. Sadly, I think due to time taken and percieved lack of interest from the dealers, I've lost 2 other cars too

The search will continue

Out of interest, why RAC vehicle check? What do they do more than the two I've checked?
