Service invoice says “Variable” not “T&D”

Had my 2nd service on Saturday, and just noticed now that the invoice says “2nd variable service”, when it should say 2nd time & distance. Car is 2yrs old, 17k miles, and on T&D servicing.

I had to correct them when I dropped the car off, as the job list said variable, but he scribbled it out and changed it to T&D, so I assumed it was done as T&D.

I was in a rush when I picked the car (it was already an hour later than they had promised), so didn’t really look at the invoice, just paid the price that I had previously agreed (£177, + £60 for brake fluid).

Should I be concerned that it says Variable and not T&D? My simplistic (not mechanical at all) mind says they must do more work for Variable anyway, as it’s probably done less often than T&D, so should I even care if they incorrectly did a Variable service, but I really have no idea.  I’m guessing if I phone up then all they’ll say is “yes sir it was T&D it is just a mistake on the invoice” regardless of what they actually did.

It probably worked out for the best anyway, since its recommended to use the LL oils even for a T&D service.

advisor should have checked warranty system and also there own system to make sure both said t&d. As sometimes warranty system can say longlife and your own system can say t&d.
if its your second service and your on about 17k your vehicle should be set to t&d.
if you hadnt had a service previously, than it would be your first longlife service.
shouldnt make any difference to you. just the service advisors, as there system date would be incorrect.
id be able to check for you what its set to through vw warranty system, but its what its been set at at pdi or for you for delivery that you really want to check...
