lady said is that the one you want to buy?

me: well i'll need a test drive to be able to tell

lady: how do i know you'll not try this and buy else where

me: i can't comment and said i've not tried dsg, so how am i suppose to know

lady: tried to fob me off saying their company insurance only covers for people over 25, and are you?

me: as i turned up in my sparkling audi tt and my wife, i just said yes

well she fobbed me off saying she's busy and sunday are no good, so i said thanks but no thanks and later!

I can't recommend my dealer highly enough.  Northfield VW Cirencester.  I had to travel around 30 miles to get to this one but they far exceeded 4 more local dealers as far as my sale wents, and they likes chipped cars. Had a couple of demos that had been chipped.

And this morning it's just been in for its first service and they price matched/beat all the other dealers, saved over £50.
5 door Ed 30, Reflex Silver, DSG, Fully loaded apart from window tints. Considering remap and exhaust conversion.

Been biting my tongue on this one. But had a similar thing happen to me not to mention a salesman with a stinking attitude. Also remembered telling a salesman to give me a call if he came across and new r32's with recaros. Has he called me back??

Dealers vary from place to place but the employees/salesmen also vary.

The guy who helped me through buying the GTI was away on holiday on the day I was due to pick up the car and finalise any remaining paperwork. The guy in his place was some boring square who wasn't as friendly. Very formal. Not someone I'd feel I'd be able to go to if I had a problem.

its not just vw dealers to be fair, when we where looking at getting a new car the vw dealer we went into was very unhelpful, it was almost as if that because me and the wife look young that we couldnt afford a new car. Decided on a vxr in the end and went to a few vaux dealers who acted the same way towards us and i seemed to know more about the cars than they did , in the end went to another vaux dealer who couldnt help us enough and where really clued up on the vxr range so we spent our money their. There are so many dealers about i think its worth finding one that you want to spend your cash on because lets face it, other than buying a house its the next biggest purchase, why give the cash to some tube who doesnt give two fu.ks about you  :undecided:

i think too many car sales people think they are the bees knees, just like phone shop workers, they all ware their cheap suits and watches thinking they look the sh!t, but at the end of the day they are just sales assistants. At least i can be smug that i earn more than they do   :lipsrsealed:

I have to concur that car sales people are worse than most. They rarely keep their promises to call back and almost without exception can't handle the basics. I've lost count of sales monkeys who don't bother to call back, nissan, KIA, audi and vw. I got so hacked off waiting for a vw sales twit to call (waited a week) then called the head honcho and said "what would you say if a customer had £18,000 and had been trying to give it to you for a week?" I explained and he made some kind of nasal noise down the phone! I said that's it you've had your chance and politely said I would be going elsewhere.

Or the pathetic sales guy who talked over my wife! Ha ha ha he learned a good lesson in sales ettiqutte that day :-)

I would love a name and shame section on here to embarrass these tossers, probably some legal reason I bet why we cant.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

LOL - yeh the same has happened to my wife. The poor bloke was trying to disappear into the grout in the floor tiles after I'd had a go.

Needless to say, the dealer didn't get the business.

There was one other who through the conversation let slip how a customer was paying for his RS6...... little did he know that the customer was a very good friend of mine.......

Dan
