that will be the problem if there is no clamp on there, as said slide the section out, get some exhaust paste around the silencer, slide it back in and fit an exhasut clamp round there and it should hold it all together

stainless steel exhaust are very good at this,   stainless dosent grip stainless very well at all and will allways move  unless you do the clamps up to the point of distorting stuff .

the easy solution is to put the exjaust together and drill a 3mm hole theough the two sections and drive a short self tapping screw in.   that will keep it located in place prityy much forever.     if you are worried about the screw working loose,  locking washer underneath works well

It used to be my monthly ritual of refitting the exhaust - seriously! Because the down pipe and centre box were the same dia. it was a dumb ass sleeve fitting that barely held it together.

Fitting a solid front engine mount helped things a lot and made it a 6 monthly ritual. Then fitting a full stainless system where it wasn't designed by an imbecile helped - only need to nip it up every 8 months now ;)

I'm about ready to bin my Jetex system. It bangs, rattles and rolls and makes the shed very difficult to drive. Got it booked in to an exhaust fabricator next week for an assessment to see if anything can be done with it. If it can't, its going in the free-adds, and I'll fit a standard one.
