From a Brazilian source. Says Senna has signed for williams, leaving Rubens without a drive for 2012.

Poor old Rubens. Not only did he not get given a proper goodbye, but he also got made unemployed by the nephew of his mentor.

As much as I too like Ruben's sense of humour and personality, it was time the old dog retired. He's not as fast anymore, he's lost the winning hunger (and the 2nd place hunger too). He'd make a great test driver though and to be fair, I would like to see him just this year at HRT (Hip Replacement Team) with De La Rosa, the most experienced (agewise) line up on the grid. Would really give HRT a boost in car development.

EJ and DC were talking about his retirement/redundancy toward the end of the season. Remember them saying how he asked for the videos of his 'final' interviews with BBC etc. I feel quite sad for him...He is one of the kindest guys on the circuit

Rubens was a great guy in the sport, great character and a real racer!

I've got to say thou i dont like "number 2" drivers (like Rubens) in F1, I still think F1 should be and always should have been about the best of the best all in it to win it no matter what team your in.
Drivers like Barachello, Massa and De La Rosa will never be champions simply because they are happy with 2nd place or a race finish

And while i'm on a rant, I also hate Maldonado and Senna for getting race seats by there sponsorship funding not there talent. Senna still has a lot to prove but Maldonado is a waste of space in F1
