Fooking ell son, and I thought "my rusty bubble, leaky window" problem was going to be a pain!... I suggest getting a secondhand or replacement scuttle piece at least...

I've got some links I posted somewhere not long ago of similar issues with MK1s... Show step by step weld ups that demonstrate anything can be repaired!.... are you handy with a welder then? Hats off to you if you tackle this.

just did a few searches for them links buddy not finding them, can u point me in the right direction. i wont be doing alot of wleding initially. my das using this as good time for father son bonding. hes gonna lend the welder and help with the metal and teach me as we go. my house mate also happens to be a welder by trade so im not short of help, but the aim is learn to weld on my own car 

got a few more pictures of front end strip down but weve all seen that before so ill post some more worth while pictures once the engines out and chasis rails exposed

any links or info on the subject would be appreciated, ive got my eyes on the scuttle panel repair panel from big boys toys for 45 bux, and possibly both inner wings if i can afford it

Good stuff, just had a read, good stuff, my plan is to spend the time making mine as neat and strong as the yellow one. I'm only really interested in having the car ready for bug jam and I not taking her this year so that gives me 18 months to do everything properly and re seal the engine aswell.

Work stopped for today, my dad seems to have landed himself in the hospital after collapsing.
Back at work tomorrow so progress will b slow until the summer comes and money starts rolling in for materials

Back at pissing work now, split shifts galore so Atleast I get a couple of hours in the afternoons, going on a hunt for more discs for the grinder this afternoon and get hacking some more chunks out aswell as roll the engine out. Plenty of pictures to take so every one can laugh at the job I have taken on.
