Box with exposed wires behind pedals
« on: 24 March 2009, 16:24 »
Hi Guys,

I noticed last night that behind the pedals there appears to be a box that has a number of exposed wires... does anyone know what this is?  Should it have a cover over the box to hide the wires?

It's directly behind the accelerator, I'll take a picture if it'll help.

Thanks,
Richard.

Those wires control the accelleration signals from the pedal to the throttle. The accellerator is a "drive by wire" set-up and the wires are normally exposed like that.

You would have thought that VW would have improvised a discreet solution to hide those wires.

Thanks for that, thought I was going to have to buy myself a cover for it.

I agree, the least they could've done was put a cover over the box... hope I don't accidentally pull out the wires!!
