Has anyone else had problems with the MP3 capable head unit? Mine will play some CD-Rs fine but others it shows an error message, even though it is the same type of CD and has no scratches. If I take the cd out and put it back in, or change the folders, it will sometimes start to work.

I'm wondering if they were recorded on too high a speed but haven't tried re-recording them yet. Or maybe it could be broken...

I have the same problem. What you using to burn?

I know itunes gives very little issues (mine wont burn though as apple screwed the update for windows owners and wont fix it  ) Rewritable ones seem to give alot of issue as well!

top tips are to burn the cdr at very low speed and only use high quality cdrs.
Without traction power is nothing!

Most external players dont play CD-RW from my experience. CD-R's are much more compatible.
Also ensure you close the CD-R before you try it in the car - ie. end the session so that the table of contents can be written.

I'm still having problems with this. I've tried a different brand of CD-R and also a different writer, writing at the lowest possible speed of 4x.

On putting the CD in "Error" comes up, but if I eject and push it back in a few times it will eventually start working. Also, looking at the freshly burnt CD, scratches seem to be made by the Golf player.

Anyone else had anything like this? And are dealers usually quite happy to swap out the CD player, or will I need to cause a fuss...

Just an update for anyone else that has the same problem in the future. I fixed it by  using a different CD recording program. I was using CD Burner XP and used another and they play fine now.

Which is great because it was very annoying ejecting and putting CDs in all the time to get them to play!
