Right, well I rang the VW UK line ( 0800 0833 914) and spoke to someone in the Technical team, they said that the recommendation is 4 Years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes sooner.

To do 120,000 in 4 years would be going some! anyway at least the 4 year thing does appear to be the official line, i asked if it was an update but she wasnt sure,
