No power when i accelerate

Sometimes when i start the car n go for a drive it flies

Other times i stuggle to get to 40mph

Anything i could check for this problem?

Im guessing sparkplugs may need changing or maybe the fuel injection needs to be looked at, any other possibilities?

Also what are good spark plugs to use? halfords?

Give it a GOOD service,

Spark plugs (HT Leads if you can)
New dizzy
Oil and Filter(You could try and use "Engine Flush")
New air filter
Fuel Filter

Hafords sell diffrent types/makes of spark plugs. Try eBay quite cheep for service items.

I always find the cheapest place for parts is GSF or Euro car parts

my old 1.6 used to be like that sometimes as well, then it just went away. think it might have been after i cleaned the throttle body

dizzy= distributor
engine flush is a substance u put in ur oil for a certain amount of miles to give the inside of ya car 'a wash' get all the grime n that out b4 u change the oilfilter.
fuel filter obv filters the fuel and oil filter filters the oil!
if uve got a haynes manuel a.k.a the book of lies then it will guide u through ur service there all easy jobs even i can do um n im a spanner  shop around for parts thought, GSF car parts is good for ur dizzy but ive found alot of stuff on ebay for alot cheaper!saw HT leads+ boshe super 4 spark plugs for £24, the spark plugs alone r 20 quid if halfords!
