Test fitted my new grille+some questions
« on: 16 March 2009, 20:01 »
Test fitted that CF look grille today. Here are the pictures (I know the mk5 needs a wash ):

Yay or nay?
Personally I like it. Obviously the notches would need to be filled though.
I was going to test fit the angel eyes too but couldn't get the front bumper off. Here's what I did:
1. Grille off
2. Removed the 4 t-25 torx screws under the grille
3. Removed the 5 t-25 torx screws in either wheel arch
4. Pulled a bit, but didn't get anywhere.
The top of the front was loose and the sides were loose, but it stayed attached. Am I missing some screws/bolts/clips that need to be removed?
Finally, a question about lowering. When you guys say you have lowered the car 30/40/whatever mm are you including the 20 or 25mm the GTI is lowered as standard, or do you mean 30mm from where you started (giving a total lowering of, say, 50mm)?
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

I could, but don't want to. I like the look of the standard bumper.
