i'm running a set of ronal turbos on my oak green mk2, look the business in my opinion, but lots of people aren't so keen.

i also like the old school look, with 16 or 17 inch azev A's probably topping the bill,  followed by borbet C's, and OZ saturn plus's

Anything non vag looks crap these days.
I had a set of those fat fives. Looked quite nice.

RS, RM's, RA's or G60 steels is the only way. Split rims are just big boy status

Quite pricey but look spot on. If you have a matching VAG exhaust (polished tailpipes) That just looks stunning!

You can't beat BBS RM/RS not evan with a big stick. They also drive better with 15'. Had 17' when bought my car and they didn't last.
