Cold air intake on standard engine
« on: 10 March 2009, 18:33 »
I don't have a v8, I don't have an 8 stroke, I don't have turbo...

I have a bog standard 1.8 engine... will a cold air intake do anything to performance and noise?

Is it worth spending £50 on ebay or better to go for £100 name supplier?

What are your experiences?

Wouldn't that just suck in hot air from the engine bay?

Ok I can see that, would it affect the noise? a V4 doesn't make much noise but I'd like to give it a bit of a growl ;)

(my first car, I'm 27, it's sad)
