how the hell is it screwed on?  there are no holes in my tailgate, just square slots in the plastic surroundy thing.  Looking at etka it shows an expending nut, does this just clip into the plastic trim piece?

Think its fixed on with the expanding plastic pins, if you look across the middle their is about 5 small little round dots they need pushing out from inside the tailgate.  :smiley: Well thats what it looks like on mine

fraid so, never had owt on the tailgate after i got it so i'm struggling to figure out how it all goes together!
westfield: are the plastic pin things just held onto the plastic trim then?

Jonny please see pics.
This is a pic from outside you will see 6 of these,4 at the top and 2 along the bottom

Then this is from inside, you need to get a small screwdriver and poke the centre pin out then squeeze the expanding receivers and push out.

Does this make sense, I hope so.  :wink:

what I'm trying to figure out is how the actual numberplate is bolted to the car, from your 1st pic tho I think my suspicions are confirmed, looks like a round plug clipped into the plastic trim?
