Front Bumper Trim for silver 2001 4motion.
« on: 05 March 2009, 16:14 »
Some a-hole pinched my trim in the middle of the night.   Anyone know what golf models will have a part that fits?  (been looking for a replacement on breaking sites)

cheers

If you mean the valance it is around IIRC 40 pounds from the dealers - And only on 4motions

Do you mean the bit underneath the bumper, as in the valance, or the moulding, which I doubt someone would manage to get out without taking the bumper off

moulding

valance

You need to clarify PMC.

It's the moulding... looking at one on ebay just now.  Presumably a spray can from Halfords will do the job? (still trying to track down my paint code)

Part is £40 unprimed, so the primed one off ebay probably best bet....

Any warnings on potential for me ar5ing this up?

thanks

Have you sprayed anything before? Getting a good colour match might be awkward, but its not a massive panel to colour.

If you haven't, the key is in the prep - take your time, don't rush and use good materials. Do a search on here for spraying guides and techniques - perhaps try on an old part first to build your confidence?
