Scratches on glass

Is there anyway to remove light scratches from windscreen wipers on the glass?  or buff them out or lessen their appearance somehow??

not sure what to suggest really, you cant buff the windscreen as it will make the surface very smooth and will cause water to bead, when the wiper passes over the screen it will cause it to mist into smaller beads bluring your vision, (dangerous)

would suggest either getting a new screen if its thats bad or ring an autoglass company and see what they suggest.

You're kidding right? If the water beads - it means its not not sticking to the glass, so it runs off. Combine that with wind when driving and it will mean you'd never need to use your window wipers.

Or I'm wrong and someone should contact RainX as they're potentially trying to kill the world

Have a look into fine abrasives - you'll need to be using the red/grey compounds.

Yes I did have a look on ebay at the scratch doctor products- but am dubious- I could end up making it worse and then can't see out of the blo^dy thing!!!  Has anyone used this first hand???  Might as well give that a go I reckon, and then go for a new screen after that- am I right in thinking with a fully comp insurance, i would only pay the excess, and my NCB would remain the same??

ALso, I did speak to autoglass, when I had a chip filled and they can't do scratches. he suggested new screen.

with fully comp insurance you usually only pay a £60 windscreen excess if you have a replacement - you have to make sure that it definately broken first though

MY windscreen has got 9 years worth of scratches and the like on it.  On a sunny day especially, the swirling n the glass is stupidly noticeable

bob the only good way out of this is u wont like it unless u have 50 quid is to crack it and claim it wont touch ur no claims.

and u wud hav a brand new 1  4 half the price

i once come accross t cut for glass called glass cut or summit try that with a polisher might make it less noticble
