Is this a match?
« on: 04 March 2009, 15:17 »
Ok, took the filler cap off my golf, and compared it to this old boot lid I have off another 1996 dragon green mk3.

Do you think it is a good match?

I know its a bit hard to tell like this, but i think it looks quite good.

I ask this as I am in need of another door, and am going to look at a breaking 1996 dragon green golf at the weekend. I hope the door I see will match as good as this.

I'd like to know how you get on with this Vdubbster as I'll be doing the same soon enough, changing the rear bumper and O/S wing.

Well

I got the tailgate, and its shook lol

It looked 100% on the donor car, but once home and after a good clean and polish its been resprayed :-( :-(

the top half is perfect (factory job) however the lower (shti body shop) looks gash. the lacquer is horrid.

So I have fitted this one, and am sending my other to the paintshop along with my fuel cap so an exact match can be had.

Shady - I reckon if you stick to the oval repeater model, AND make sure the paint is ORIGINAL, no shti resprays, then youl be ok.
