HELP! Idling problems
« on: 12 July 2004, 13:33 »
My car still idles at 2300 revs.

Yesterday found the fuel pump under the back right wheel hanging down due to the bracket rusting off. This has been welded back in place but hasnt helped to solve the problem...

What could be the problem causing this and how much am i looking at to fix?

Not entirely happy with booking it in to a garage in case they charge me a fortune...

All help greatly appreciated!

Rich

thanks dinx- think it gave me an idea that it was something to do with the fueling..

garage fixed it, now idles just below 1k steadily. oil pressure is massively lower aswell. cost ?45 in all- could have been worse!

hopefully my fuel consumption will improve on 21mpg!

The fuel mixture sounds over rich, adjust it using a gunston colortune/ co tester, or go to a garage and pay them to adjust it.
