I hit a pheasant in my Mk5 (at three figure leptons ) - it went straight through the lower grille, holed the air con condensor, and dented the intercooler too!   Took me ages to get rid of all the blood and guts, and even a year later when I stripped down the front end to fit the S3 cooler, still kept finding bits of it!

Sadly, the Mrs didn't fancy taking her revenge by putting the fcuker in the pot!

the vectra that i used to use as a daily barge once developed a strange smell that developed over time. it started off as a mix between burnt air and cooking meat and developed into unpleasent ness,    eventualy found bits of two rabbits  wedged between the enigne tray and enigne.     ewwww

Friend of mine and I were going a bit quick down some country roads in his 1380 Mini and a gaggle of pheasants ran out in front of us. We missed them but there was one that was following a bit behind.

Mini @ 75 MPH + Pheassant = "OOOOHHHHH my God the straggler IS Toast!"

My mate had put his number plate on bendy "meccano" brackets so that survived, but there were bits of pheasant attached to exhaust and battery box. Yuk...
