did you actually try turning the wheel rather than bounce off the kerbs?

Or bouncing off the Chavs, who normally frequent Focus DIY stores.

and Audi drivers wonder why no one likes them.

The ladder was to paint the attic.
It just fit into the GTI with the front seats pushed forward.

After one year of grumbling about the steering the new seating position gave a dramatic improvement.  Way too cramped but better steering.
A bit more adjustment and it's now spot on good.

The hardest car I've ever had to get the driving position just right.  Having a long back I just pushed the seat to it's lowest setting.  This was wrong as Golf's are built for bulky sausage eaters.  I now give the steering 8/10 instead of the 6/10 before Focus.

Don't forget, I also drive a Volkswagen too!

Oh, and a Renault, a Merc, and a whole shed load of Vauxhalls!  :embarassed:

But if you had said all that in your original post, you wouldn't have left us all wondering WTF you were on about - and certainly wouldn't have had all the p!ss taking!  You do make things difficult sometimes, Nosher.

Oh, and you do know that the steering wheel also moves in and out, and up and down?

I had the perfect driving position. Then the car went in for a service a few weeks back. It's never been the same since, despite making multiple adjustments

That's the point, I thought I had it.  It was comfy and nice.  But the steering was not quite right.
The new position is also comfy and nice but with better steering.

It could be yours is also comfy but with second rate steering.  A hard car to get right.

Do you mean the steering wheel position or the actual handling? I've never had problems with either tbh  :undecided:

The handling is great.
It was the steering.
I've moaned on for ages about it.  Now it's cured and I'm happy.
Before it's first service in a few weeks I'll measure the seat position.  Hey presto memory seats.

Is it the position of the wheel or how 'light' it is? I know a guy on another forum who was complaining about how light it felt at times because he preferred heavier steering.
