MK3 16v into MK2
«

Has anyone put a mk3 16v engine into a mk2. I have digi fuel system and don't fancy coverting it to k-jet just to get benefits of the 16v.
Do you think this would work well? Any tips?
Cheers

a common engine conversion in the mk2 is a 2.0 16v engine from a passat or a corrado,
9a block i think.
there worth doing
not sure about the mk3 16 valve engine tho

whats the point?
the 1.8 is rated at 139 against the 2.0 at 150. you can easily get the extra 11bhp with a bit of thought rather than a whole lot of hassle changing engines.

The ABF engine is far more tunable than the KR.
But it will be hassle to fit it, go for the 9A out of a passat/corrado.
