Group buy of ChippedUK ST3 Tuning Box
« on: 01 March 2009, 23:36 »
I know that R-Tech have a great reputation for tuning and customer service on this site and no way is this an attempt to move business away from them. (I would welcome R-Tech's opinion on this system)

I have considered a range of options for improving the power output from my Mk5 GTi and decided that the option that suits me best is to have the option of mapping the engine but also retaining the option of easily removing the map back to standard.  To this end I have been looking at various 'self' remapping systems such as BlueFin and the ST-3 device.

I am currently looking to pull together a group buy of the ST-3 units from ChippedUK who can offer the system for £299 rather than the normal retail price of £399 providing we have over 10 purchases.

I now have 11 names interested from the two sites, but thought that I would give them members of this forum (the first that I joined) a chance to get in on the opportunity.

If you're interested then please respond to this message or PM me.  I'm hoping to confirm details with ChippedUK by Wed/Thurs of this week so be quick.

Best Regards,
Duke.

The ST3 is a very good tool it is based on the Aleintech powergate re-branded. http://www.r-techpower.co.uk/product1.php .  The chippeduk files seem to put smiles on the customers faces, plus if your speaking to Simon you cannot go far wrong he is a really sound guy imo.
I have never had any issue with the tool at all so it is thumbs up from me.

If you miss out on there offer let me know and i will ask nick when he gets back and see what price we are doing them for.

I got the alientech from R-Tech unit for less than the group buy and with three maps
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Ben,
Thanks for your response .  Do you know when Nick is due back?

I promised the other forums that I would confirm arrangements with ChippedUK soon.

Both systems look good, do you know if the flash counter is reset during each remap session?

Many Thanks,
Dave.

I would not bother with the flash counter, I know other companies using this tool dont sell it with the option of resetting the flash counters infact I have never had to alter the counter on any mk5 ecu, and I have known many to go back to the dealers for warranty work.
Your best bet is not try and pull the wool over the dealers eyes be truthful with them and they will treat you with a bit more respect aswell, they can find out even if the counter is set to zero so trying to pull a fast one could make the dealers a bit b!tchy.  There is a long thread on UKmk4s all about the flash counter and the st3.

Nick

Group buy now closed.

Ben/Nick, Thanks for comments.  I hope to be wearing the remap smile soon.
