not ssure if i like that tbh lets see what the engine department holds for us

Remember this article is from 2009, so IMO it's not the car that we will see in 18 or so months.

Perhaps something a little more upto date?

The OP link is ancient! So i posted the above link from one of gizzywizzy's earlier posts which is more likely to be what the ACTUAL mk7 will look like. Honestly, if Mr Nosh (sorry wash) is as usual just posting to wind people up, he could at least be up to date!!

Personal opinion - I loved the mark 1, liked the mark 2, it then went downhill. Even the looks of the mark 4 took time to grow on me, but it was not powerful enough (GTi). With the mark 5, I think VW realised that they could build a hot hatch which will appeal to family men/women etc, and things were back on track. The mark 6, for me, is a cosmetic improvement which is expected during evolution. But my initial thoughts of the mark 7 remind me of the days where VW went backwards cosmetically.
Anyone else agree, or do I need to visit Specsavers

what I love about this forum is that everyone hates the "new golf" but those that get one

I like it a lot and will doubtless end up in one. Could be a while yet though as the GTi will no doubt be a gazillion pounds to buy!!!

The usual press speculation about the next Golf. Sells magazines.

I can't see a mk 7 GTI before 2013 at the earliest.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.
