What battery is the best?

Hi all  - I had my car put through the code reader and dispite thinking that it needed loads of works i need a new battery, a battery clamp, fuse holder- top of battery, battery housing  - the battery has actually no base - however I need a new batt - the question is which one - i don't want that dies quickly - so guys which one shall I buy?

I can't say as I've ever seen a thread of batteries for a mk4 yet!!  I guess I'd probably just go to VW to price up a new one.

The red-top racing gel batteries are best. :)

Few months ago could hear it was struggling to start got worse next few days so replaced it before it let me down  :wink:

It was the original battery - 9 years old  :shocked:
