12k budget - Golf GTI the obvious choice?

Hi all,

Am in the process of selling my 172 cup to buy something a bit more comfortable with some pace to boot.  for a while was thinking A3 2.0 TDI DSG 170 or 140 but am coming round to the GTI

is there anything to look out for when buying one second hand? what kind of age / condition should i expect for 12k

is it worth getting one 2nd hand for a VW dealer or should i just look out for the best deal for the cash

do like the idea of having a warranty for a year but then if the deal is good enough i could always just buy a good one for £400 from warranty direct

any advice would be great

wished i had 12k to spend i could have got lower miles and few more spec esp leather and/or sunroof.

but i,m still well chuffed!

this golf is the first time ive ever had leatherinterior and dont know think i could ever have cloth again, the heated seats are quality

12k will get you a nice gti
