My New Black Badge Look (Updated 1/3/09)
« on: 27 February 2009, 23:31 »
Well as you know im going to be painting a sharan rear badge and front vw badge this weekend/week   well my 'bluevision bulbs' havent arrived so hoping they will be here tomorrow   so called into dealers after work and halfrauds to
the list :
Mattblack paint
600 grit wet&dry
1200 grit wet&dry

1J0853601A041 x1 badge
7M3653630AFDY x1 badge
LLS0M6A7W x2 paint/laquer

well as suspected the front black vw badge is the later type and the dealer tells me that the older 30mm thicker type vw is no longer available   so the choice is you have to use a later type grille to   so thats my choice and as luck would have it they had 1 in stock   (first time i haven't had to order anything  ) so an additional part then 1J0853653CGRU

well decided after covering where im spraying that i may as well make a start tonight
so onto some pics  :

All The Parts.

Splitting The Sharan Badge And The front vw Badge.

1st Stage Rubbing Down With 600 Grit.

Vw Badge 1st Coat Of Primer.

Sharan Badge 1st Coat Of Plastic Primer.

Coat Of Primer On The Griille (supplied primered with white primer).

So thats the progress for tonight i will be working on them over the weekend and next week
And having primered the grille i would like your opinions please on what would be best 1 spray with reflex silver (with mattblack badge)and reflex silver inside the badge 0r then had another thought   seeing as its primered 2 mattblack and mattblack badge or would that look to much? mmm decisions
welcome your thoughts or comment please :afro:

Whats with the new grill mate, how come you have to replace it?
